This project was planned for the Unique Kindergarten Program, which is a program aimed at designing kindergartens innovatively so that they answer the needs of children in the 21st century. Consultants for the Happy Days project included The Institute for Democratic Education.
The old design was a single, unvaried open space. The new design offers three different unique spaces, each providing a different experience for the children:
- Quiet reading space – a haven from noise and distractions.
- Play and learning space – colorful and designed to accommodate children’s perspective of space.
- Art space – an inspiring space that is transparent and accessible to children, with special tailored storage.
The most important thing in my perspective is to provide children with as much variety as possible by creating different activity spaces
